Ceramic Powder Preparation and Conveying: Addressing Three Major Challenges!

ONGOAL TECH, based on its profound understanding of various types of powder materials, has launched an automatic solution for ceramic powder preparation to overcome the challenges in this process. This comprehensive solution aims to enhance the production efficiency and quality of advanced ceramic powders.

Challenges:

Fragility during the conveying process of spherical powders

High powder hardness leading to pipeline wear

Risk of introducing moisture and magnetic impurities

With the rapid development of 5G, new energy vehicles, and 3D printing, the demand for high-quality powders, including advanced ceramic powders and advanced powder metallurgy materials, is increasing. However, there is still a lack of a comprehensive automatic solution for the feeding, batching, conveying, mixing, and grinding of special powder materials, particularly advanced ceramic powders.

To address these challenges, ONGOAL TECH introduces an automatic solution for ceramic powder preparation, which significantly improves the production efficiency and quality of advanced ceramic powders.

01 Fragility of spherical powders during conveying:

In the field of advanced ceramics, spherical powder materials are widely used and require transportation and conveying. However, maintaining the shape of spherical powders during this process is challenging.

Static Conveying

Currently, a commonly used solution is static conveying, combining Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGV), lifting machines, and Rail Guided Vehicles (RGV) for multi-point transportation. This solution minimizes the damage to powder morphology.

Low-speed Dense Phase Conveying

Pneumatic conveying offers numerous advantages such as high conveying efficiency, low investment costs, low operating costs, and long maintenance cycles. However, during the conveying process, the collision and friction between the powder and the pipeline can affect the morphology of spherical powders. ONGOAL TECH has mastered the technology of low-speed dense phase pneumatic conveying, achieving a material-to-air ratio of over 50:1. This reduces the material flow speed, minimizes material losses during conveying, and resolves the issue of fragility in the conveying process of spherical powders.

02 High powder hardness and pipeline wear:

The high hardness of advanced ceramic powders and powder metallurgy powders often discourages the use of pneumatic conveying technology due to frequent pipeline wear, leading to reduced lifespan and increased maintenance costs. ONGOAL TECH employs the advantages of positive pressure dense phase pneumatic conveying, which reduces the material flow speed to a minimum of 4m/s. This significantly reduces the abrasion on pipelines. Moreover, using S304 ceramic-lined pipelines, especially at bends and transitions, further reduces pipeline wear.

03 Prevention of external impurities:

In the field of new materials, many powders exhibit strong hygroscopicity, poor flowability, and susceptibility to moisture absorption and reactions with air. Additionally, powder metallurgy materials are highly sensitive to external impurities, especially magnetic impurities.

Based on different material characteristics, ONGOAL TECH offers solutions to isolate external moisture by employing nitrogen gas conveying, nitrogen circulation protection, and micro-positive pressure protection in the silo.

Furthermore, ceramic lining (alumina, silicon carbide, silicon nitride), PTFE lining, tungsten carbide spraying, and strong magnetic iron removers effectively prevent the introduction of magnetic impurities.

With mature technologies and extensive experience in material handling, ONGOAL TECH provides tailored solutions for the production of ceramic powders, powder metallurgy materials, and other related fields. These solutions not only enhance production efficiency but also ensure stable product quality, creating greater value for your business.
