Each year WHO commemorates World TB Day to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of tuberculosis (TB) and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic. The date marks the day in 1882 when Dr. Robert Koch announced that he had discovered the bacterium that causes TB, which opened the way towards diagnosing and curing this disease.
What is easily overlooked is patients with pneumoconiosis, particularly silicosis and coal workers' pneumoconiosis, are at a higher risk of developing tuberculosis (TB) due to lung damage and weakened immune system. TB can progress faster and be more severe in these patients. Silicosis patients are considered a high-risk group for TB by WHO. Preventive measures, such as regular TB screening and reducing exposure to harmful particles, are essential to prevent complications in patients with pneumoconiosis.
In the early days of industry, workers on-site were frequently exposed to dusty environments, and this posed a significant risk to their health. During one of his visits to a customer, Mr. Luo noticed that the workers' skin was darkened due to the dust they were exposed to. He began to wonder whether there was a more efficient and automated solution to protect workers from occupational diseases rather than simply improving their protective gear.
As a result of his observations, Mr. Luo founded ONGOAL TECH in 2008, a company that specializes in material handling.
ONGOAL started with pneumatic conveying system for dust-free production and now offers 10 material handling systems with turnkey solutions for various industries, including batteries, food, medicines, chemicals, and plastics. ONGOAL has become a trusted partner due to innovative solutions and focus on customer satisfaction.
Technology is not only for profit but also for good.
